Why did you join Physique Academy?
I joined the Physique Academy in the end of September 2023, and started the program from October 2023.
Why did you join Physique Academy?
Before joining the Physique Academy, I had been going to the gym for about 10 years, but without any proper systematic approach, with big breaks and without nutrition plan. I had managed to build muscles, but the main challenge was to get lean so that all those muscles started popping out properly. So, my goal was to achieve 10-12% body fat and maintain the muscle mass as much as possible.
What have you achieved both physically and personally since joining the academy?
I have about 8%-10% body fat now and maintained most of the muscle mass I had before the cutting phase. I feel more confident and enjoy life more. Even counting calories and finding ways to fit my nutrition to my goals, including dining out and social life generally, seems to be making life more interesting!
What is your ultimate fitness goal?
Now I’m aiming to maintain the current shape and focus on the lagging muscle groups. No particular goals for this year – just want to make sure that my achieved results are sustainable in the long-term. Perhaps will strive for future fitness goals including bulking next year.
In what other areas of your life has Physique Academy helped you improve?
Despite my experience in the gym, I picked up some good ideas on how to maximize results when working out. Nutrition-wise, I got a clear understanding of how things work and how little changes in your routine make the difference. I would say the transformation has been a life changing experience having a great impact on my mindset - I no longer want to consume alcohol and eat unhealthy that much as I used to do before starting the journey. This is mainly because I realized the benefits of eating clean and staying sober - this indeed helps to feel energy throughout the day, it also facilitates happiness hormones, so you feel motivated and fulfilled.
Would you recommend Physique Academy?
Yes, definitely. The programme is well structured and certainly worth it. I think Physique Academy’s approach is the right one.
What gets you motivated to complete the programme to best of your ability?
It’s mainly the result I’ve been achieving throughout the programme. In the beginning it was a bit challenging, but once you figure out certain things how to make it easier for you (e.g. nutrition) and start to see the progress every week, it becomes a very enjoyable experience.
Is there something fitness related you can do now you couldn’t do before joining Physique Academy?
My bench press test at the end of the transformation was my personal best - 105 kg 6 reps. Also, HIIT workouts are no longer such a big challenge to me. It takes me less time to recover after workouts generally as well.
How important is a routine for you?
I’m quite a well-organised person, so I place much value on routine and discipline. Physique Academy is good at giving a workable routine that can be maintained in the long-term. Coupled with ongoing support from a coach, which is especially helpful in case of struggling, it is a perfect platform to build new healthy habits and improve one’s lifestyle.
What has been your highlight of working with Physique Academy?
I would say it was when my coach, Mikey Weir, came over to Dubai where I live – we had a chance to celebrate finishing the Phase 1 and talk about future plans. This seems to have been a perfect end of the challenging period while being on Phase 1.
What’s next on your fitness journey?
Now I’m aiming to maintain the current shape and focus on the lagging muscle groups. No particular goals for this year – just want to make sure that my achieved results are sustainable in the long-term. Perhaps will strive for future fitness goals including bulking next year.
