Client of the Year - Mike Teagle

Huge congratulations to our client of the year Mike Teagle. A previous winner of our prestigious client of the month award, Mike has taken his transformation to another level and is a true testament to everything Physique Academy stands for. 18 months down the line, Mike has fully transformed his physique, mindset & lifestyle and has found a level of confidence like no other. With a professional photoshoot under his belt, he has some serious ambitions for 2024. Working alongside coach Reece Hopkins, the two have become unstoppable and their relationship has grown from coach to client to a brotherhood bond.

How do you feel about winning the Client of the Year?

Buzzing! I was really over the moon when Reece called me up to say I was awarded client of the year. I had been working extremely hard on getting to the end point of the second cut after the photoshoots I received the award. Exciting for sure!

How long have you now been with the academy?

Been with the Academy for 18months, where we went through 2 cuts (70.25 & 64.6kg) and 1 bulk.

What was your initial reason for reaching out?

I reached out with the intention of losing a couple lbs and becoming healthier in myself and being able to play football for 90mins.
Fast forward and it’s been an incredible journey where this is now a lifestyle.

What weight did you start at and where are you at now?

101kg starting and after my first cut I got to around 70.25 and during the second cut, we got down to 64.6kg and photo shoot ready at the end!

What other goals away from your physique have you achieved along the way?

Ive taken enjoyment in challenging myself in running events, so this year alone. I’ve ran a PB in 10k & Half Marathon distances, which have been huge milestones considering the starting point. I have a healthier relationship with food and generally healthier, mentally I’m in a great place too.

Who is your coach and how has it been working with him?

Reece Hopkins was my coach throughout the 18 months, and it was great working with a coach that first understood me and my aspirations and then understood my environment, my drives and used these to push me every single day to strive for better than I benchmarked myself.

What highlights can you share about working with Reece?

Reece is knowledgeable and approachable as a coach. As I mentioned Reece understands what drives you as a person and uses that to steer you towards your aspirations. I recall when I had finished a 10K event and I wanted to rebook another, and Reece asked the question if I could do a half marathon…. that’s the spark a coach puts in you.

What do you think of the mindset approach from Physique Academy and how has this helped you? Have your perceptions changed? More positive?

I have a complete positive outlook on life, myself as a person and those that I allow within my environment. I think the body is just the visual aspects everyone’s sees, but the mental side, the mindset approach. This is what gets me up every day, now and gives me structure to my life where there wasn’t in the past.

What was the main challenge you faced and how did you overcome it?

One of the challenges I faced was a shoulder injury shortly after my first cut, which mentally was tough as I couldn’t train as I wanted.
Having a coach who was able to tailor my programme (splitting legs & splitting my pull sessions) working on development points was great.

What’s next for you?

I have some big aspirations for 2024.
I am going to run a marathon…maybe two.
I want to compete in body building.
I also want to use my experiences and what I have learnt to transfer into coaching others who was at a similar starting point as me. - this is a work in
