client-of-the-month-cory

Congratulations to our latest Client of the Month award winner. Cory felt inspired to join the academy after seeing the amazing results from our social channels and having a close friend train with the team. After phase 1, Cory is the leanest he has ever been in his life and has gained new levels confidence in himself. Coach Neil and Cory have worked together incredibly and the results speak for themselves. Cory previously struggled to balance a consistent diet with his social life, but with our guidance he was able to overcome this challenge and get the results he aimed for.

We caught up with our latest client of the month to learn more about his journey with Physique Academy.

When did you join the Physique Academy?

I joined Physique Academy in July 2021.

Why did you join Physique Academy?

I joined PA because I had seen a close friend seeing some unbelievable results and I wanted to see the same sort of results myself. I really wanted to see abs as they are something I had never achieved in my life and be much fitter all round.

What have you achieved both physically and personally since joining the academy?

Since joining PA I have done what I initially set out to do and cut down to the point where I have abs and was the leanest I have ever been in my life. Not only that but I learnt a lot about myself along the way regarding my commitment, dedication and mental strength. The diet allowed me to strip off the body fat while also maintaining my strength, energy levels and also managing to get stronger in the process.

What is your ultimate fitness goal?

My goal was and still is to continue bettering myself and since joining PA I have never had such high standards for myself. I want to hit a lean bulk for the first time and continue my progress into the next phase of dieting whilst also maintaining my fitness which is something I have always struggled to balance.

In what other areas of your life has Physique Academy helped you improve?

The obvious one would be physically as I have never felt as good about myself aesthetically and the one that goes unnoticed but is the most important is the mental aspect. I am more confident in all areas of life and my attitude, routine and mental state is far superior to what it ever was before I joined.

Would you recommend Physique Academy?

Just like my mate did with me, I can’t stress enough how much PA changes your entire outlook on not only the gym but life in general. I couldn’t recommend enough biting the bullet and starting the plan because a couple months down the line you will wonder why you ever hesitated. Massive shout out to Neil who has been my coach since I started as has helped me through not 1 but 2 bad places regarding injuries and training.

What gets you motivated to complete the programme to best of your ability?

The thing that motivates me is not only my own accountability but also wanting to give back to the PA team for the dedication and time they have put into me. There is not a single time you feel undervalued which to me is what keeps you on the right path because it is evident everyone wants the same thing for one another.

Is there something fitness related you can do now you couldn’t do before joining Physique Academy?

One thing I was not able to do before hand was balance my diet with my social life which is something that has been taught and drilled into me since starting. Everybody wants you to be able to live your life but at the same time has taught me how to be accountable and what measures to take to ensure that the hard work does not go to waste which as a young lad is important.

How important is a routine for you?

Routine is the key to success and if I didn’t already know that before, I certainly know that now. Having a routine and small goals to aim for, such as weekly check ins, gives you something to aim at that is realistic. The more consistent you are with a routine the more likely you are to see quicker and consistent results. One thing that I have learnt along the way is to trust the process and be patient as good things take time to really become prominent; don’t expect over night results. You get back what you put into it.

What has been your highlight of working with Physique Academy?

My highlight would be coming back from a bad knee injury which Neil helped keep me motivated throughout. I was unable to walk for the first week and on crutches/knee brace for over a month afterwards however still managed to pick myself up and train daily doing upper body based training and upper body-based cardio which is something I would never have even dreamt of before PA. Despite being immobile I managed to maintain my final cutting weight and stick to my diet throughout the entire injury period which helped me both mentally and physically regarding my recovery. Again, all props to Neil for keeping me motivated and giving me ideas on what to do training wise and diet wise to make sure I didn’t ruin the hard work put in which could quite easily have been done.

What’s next on your fitness journey?

My next chapter of the journey will be to do a slow and steady bulk, the aim for me now is to gain a reasonable amount of lean mass so that next cutting phase I am bigger and heavier when I enter the final stages. The bar that has been set by PA is to never be too comfortable with where you are at and try to better myself daily.
