James Absalom has been chosen as the November’s Client of the Month by our dedicated PA Ambassadors! James has been with the Physique Academy program for almost a year, demonstrating unwavering commitment to every aspect of his journey, from consistent check-ins to his daily grind in the gym. While his dedication was undeniable, it was his submission video that sealed the decision for the ambassadors—the fire, passion, and remarkable transformation he’s undergone shone through with every word.

"James has shown what it means to fully invest in your goals and let nothing hold you back. He’s an inspiration, showing others what true discipline can achieve," said Head of Client Success, Terrance Craft. “James embodies what we hope for every brother-growth not just in physical strength, but in confidence and purpose. He truly deserves this recognition.”

What motivated you to join Physique Academy, and how has your experience been so far?

I looked in the mirror one day and didn’t like what I saw. I had low energy, I was not where I wanted to be. I knew how to workout so a PT to teach me the moves wasn’t what I needed but the 360 program of mind, body, spirit of what my coach Karl brings as well as accountability is what I was most attracted to about PA.

What personal goals did you set when you first joined, and how has your progress measured up?

I wanted to get lean and mean, it was all about getting rid of fat, having more energy and improving my mental health. My progress has been excellent and most importantly the habit now of a weekly check in, knowing I am accountable to someone is key, it has become a ritual now and I see it as “game day”. I almost feel guilt if I know my coach is going to find out about what I have done off plan. Nobody is perfect but this new mindset means I am 99% ahead of the average person.

Can you share one or two changes in your mindset or daily routine that you credit to the program?

Previously if I was tired or not up for it I wouldn’t exercise at all, now no matter how I feel, I always show up, get out the door and do something. It may be an awful workout or I run at half pace or half as far but I do something. This mindset amalgamated over time brings consistency and results. I am also trying to be kinder to myself and not think if I have a few bad days I may as well give up, I realise now I am not perfect and never will be but always resetting and going again is better than giving up.

How has your coach influenced your journey? Is there any advice they’ve given that’s made a difference?

I can’t tell you how important having someone that is contactable daily has changed things. Like I said earlier most PTs are only there where in the gym but I can text or call Karl whenever, if he doesnt hear from me, he asks how I am doing. The communication we have and transparency is why this works

What’s been your biggest achievement since joining Physique Academy?

Losing 14kg is insane for me, I honestly can’t get over how much difference it’s made in how I look. All my family and friends say I am super lean, I’m also more positive and am playing a great role model to my kids.

What advice would you give to others who are considering joining but might be unsure?

I think everyone sees a lot of people claiming to transform your life but it’s often just a quick fix. I don’t know all the coaches but from what I see from my coach Karl and George, it’s a relentless culture and pursuit to be the best person of ourselves. The constant reminder on all channels from daily instagram motivation, success stories around the world. Tips, tricks, ideas on diet, mental health, exercises etc is always available. It just feels a much more holistic and broader way to be successful and almost fail proof BUT you need to commit to it as an individual as without that no amount of support can work.

How has being part of the Physique Academy community impacted your life outside the program?

It inspires you to take on new challenges, motivates you to achieve what others have. Like I said above, this isn’t just how is it working for me and this private set up but it genuinely feels like people all give a shit about each other which is kind of insane as many of us don’t know each other well but take comfort knowing that if we are part of this in the first place, it is worth investing time into each other

What do you look forward to achieving next as you continue your journey with Physique Academy?

I have 2kg left to go to get to my most stripped weight in Phase 1 but I am looking forward to go into Phase 2 to build the next phase of the program.
