Client of the Month - Jay Pabari

Congratulations to our client of the month Jay Pabari. Jay reached out to the academy after years of training by himself but felt like he was struggling to really achieve the fitness levels and physique he wanted. Jay is also an employee at the intensive care unit and found himself working long hours here, there, and everywhere so routine was difficult to master.

Jay got to work with coach Harry who created a program that would slot around Jay's crazy shift pattern, with 4-5 workouts per week under 120 minutes and a nutrition plan that removed the guesswork. Jay was thrilled with his nutrition plan getting into a healthy habit of quickly creating his own home-cooked meals and getting creative with the inspiration of our recipes and his own calorie targets. He was still able to enjoy his favourite foods like curry, pasta and steak whilst seeing progress.

Jay managed to lose 23lbs in the process and has become the master of his own time, workouts, food and confidence.

We chatted with the worthy winner of client of the month to talk about his achievements and his time training with the Physique Academy.

When did you join the Physique Academy?

I joined Physique Academy in January 2023 after speaking with Coach Harry in December about signing up.

Why did you join Physique Academy?

I’ve been in the gym since I was 16 lifting weights alongside playing sports socially most weeks but never been close to achieving my goals of being in great shape physically and decided to make the commitment to change this.

What have you achieved both physically and personally since joining the academy?

I’m now in the best shape of my life thanks to PA, my training in the gym has been taken to a whole new level where I’m able to do workouts/exercises I never thought I’d be able to do. Also, I’ve learned a great amount on the nutritional aspects, understanding how much my body needs and even being more creative in the kitchen! It’s been challenging at times and tested me, but I’ve recognised that if I really want to achieve my goals, it’s only myself in the way stopping me!

What is your ultimate fitness goal?

I want to build the best version of myself, continue to grow and push myself beyond barriers that I can imagine while also encouraging others to do the same.

In what other areas of your life has Physique Academy helped you improve?

My time management and prioritising has significantly improved since being with PA, making sure my meals are set out and when to train as working shift patterns in the NHS is all over the place at times, I can’t use that as an excuse to miss any meals or training. It’s also carried over into my work and I feel I’m performing better while working.

Would you recommend Physique Academy?

100%! The first thing I always say to friends and family is that I wish I did this sooner!

What gets you motivated to complete the programme to best of your ability?

Seeing the progression with my performance in the gym, how my body is transforming in the mirror and having a great coach inspiring me are all huge factors which makes me use my weekly targets as a bare minimum of what needs to be done.

Is there something fitness related you can do now you couldn’t do before joining Physique Academy?

I’m not a fan of running at all, although I play sports like football socially, I couldn’t run a 5k as I would be breathless very quickly. Without having running in my plan with PA, I decided to spontaneously try a 5k one afternoon and surprised myself by completing it without stopping and so I’ve been told, a reasonable time for someone who doesn’t run!

How important is a routine for you?

For me it’s crucial, it sets out the day and prevents and procrastination which might set in which could have you not completing urgent tasks or not hitting those weekly objectives!

What has been your highlight of working with Physique Academy?

I’d have to say being able to achieve what I have at the end of phase 1 and having a great coach supporting me whenever I’ve needed anything.

What’s next on your fitness journey?

This is only the beginning for me, I’m looking forward to the upcoming building phase and complete more targets that thought I wouldn’t be able to achieve!

We have sent you a bag of protein and a Physique Academy t-shirt to post on our social media, website and email. Can you please take a picture of yourself wearing the t-shirt and holding the protein in view as we will change this into a social image.
