Congratulations to our newest Client of the Month, Spencer Roberts!
Why did you join?
A huge congratulations to Spencer Roberts, our new client of the month award winner. Body image issues, a lack of exercise, and a poor diet led Spencer into the path of coach Matt. After the initial consultation call, Spencer knew this was the program for him. Spencer loved how Physique Academy hit all major pillars of health, from a tailored nutrition, and training plan, to mental health too. Achieving an incredible weight loss transformation of 157.63lbs to 125.8lbs and a confidence boost like no other – we transition into Phase 2.
We caught up with our award winner to chat about his journey with Matt & the program.
Why did you join?

Why did you join Physique Academy?
In January, I went in for an annual check-up and received some poor results from my Primary doctor. I broke down and told him about the struggles I was having with depression, body image issues, diet, lack of exercise, etc. By chance, I had a consultation with Matt the next day, and it was on that call that I felt this was the change that I needed to make, so I joined and dove right in and never looked back.
What have you achieved both physically and personally since joining the academy?
Physically: I have achieved the best physique of my life. I improved in all areas of strength; particularly in my accessory movements. The plan we implemented between lifting 4x/wk and running 4x/wk was a perfect blend to keep me satisfied mentally and sustainably push my body.
Personally: It’s hard to put into words. I now look back and am happy with who's looking back at me in the mirror. I can take my shirt off in public and not feel ashamed or embarrassed. I can wear my favorite clothes and not have to buy a bigger or ‘oversize’ fit to hide my body. I can go on a date with a girl and be confident when she asks how do I take care of myself? It’s provided me with a sense of intrinsic fulfillment and confidence that is unlike any accomplishment I’ve ever earned.
What is your ultimate fitness goal?
My ultimate goal is to achieve a build that is sustainable through weightlifting, eating healthy and having a functional fitness approach to life.
In what other areas of your life has Physique Academy helped you improve?
Work, friendships, relationships, personal sense of self.
Would you recommend Physique Academy?
Yes, PA is an incredible program with coaches who care and results that are guaranteed if you put in the work.
What gets you motivated to complete the programme to best of your ability?
The week after week check-ins. You know exactly where you are and how you’re progressing. Your coach is right there to guide you and make improvements were needed so you’re never in the dark. Once you start to see progress, you become addicted and the light at the end of the tunnel becomes brighter.
Is there something fitness related you can do now you couldn’t do before joining Physique Academy?
I could not run a sub-11-minute mile. But I was able to go from a 11-minute mile to a 7-minute mile across a 3-mile loop in 90 days.
How important is a routine for you?
Routine is the only way you’ll be able to achieve results. You have to prioritize your health in all forms.
What has been your highlight of working with Physique Academy?
Making a new friend. Matt has not only been a great coach, but has also become a friend/mentor I can turn to now and ask questions about fitness, health, diet, exercise etc. I look forward to leveraging PA for any physical achievement I want to make moving forward.
What’s next on your fitness journey?
I am about 1 month into Phase 2, so we are actively working to sustain low body fat, but also put on some lean muscle mass. I have a ski trip in Lech, Austria in March that I want to be in killer shape for to shred on the mountain then look good in the hot tub après ski.
